Due to engine damage (known as “oil lock”) in 2024, we had a new engine installed on May 31, 2024, when the odometer reading was 168,949 km. The service provider was MRG Motors in Marktheidenfeld. In 2024, the diesel particulate filter and the turbocharger were also replaced.

Since then, we have had no further problems with the engine.

In April 2026, we decided against repairing the VW camper van, as it had become too small for our family anyway. According to the estimate from the Bosch service shop, repairing the defects and the faulty door mechanism would have cost approximately €2,100.

The camper van features VW camper van-style interior with cabinets on the driver’s side. A sink is included. The backseat folds down to serve as a bed. The van has a solar panel on the roof that can charge not only the existing battery but also an external battery. It is equipped with an auxiliary heater. The trunk features a pull-out system that provides additional storage space. A rearview camera serves as a parking aid.
