The previous owner had a minor water leak behind the refrigerator. This was repaired by a professional contractor, which involved dismantling the kitchen and then reassembling it exactly as it was originally.

As part of this process, the gas heating system and the gas lines for the refrigerator and cooktop were taken out of service. A technical repair is technically possible. However, this was not relevant to us, as we deliberately opted for fully electric heating and cooking.

The original refrigerator continues to work perfectly when run on electricity. For heating, we used an electric fan heater and an infrared heater—reliable and comfortable. The former heating niche now serves as a favorite sleeping spot for our dog.
