In the next step, you travel to collect the vehicle. When you collect the vehicle, you carry out an "inspection" and check the information provided by the seller. Only when you have checked everything and found it to be in accordance with the contract do you make the payment (usually by real-time bank transfer), sign the pick-up confirmation on the purchase contract and take delivery of the vehicle.

The easiest and safest way to pay is by real-time bank transfer. A real-time transfer is a lightning-fast transfer with immediate receipt of payment in the recipient's bank account.

The real-time transfer allows you to carry out the collection "step by step". On the one hand, this ensures that payment is only made after the vehicle has been inspected and not before. Secondly, the seller can hand over the vehicle to you directly, as the purchase price is immediately credited to their bank account.

If the vehicle you purchased at auction shows damage, defects or other faults at the time of collection that were not apparent from the sales advertisement and of which you therefore had no knowledge, you can withdraw from the purchase without any costs or legal consequences. The only condition is that the newly discovered defects are "significant". A cost or repair expenditure of at least 1% of the hammer price is considered to be the relevant limit.

Example: If the hammer price is €50,000, the damage must be at least €500 (1%) for a permissible withdrawal. Newly discovered defects that reduce the value only insignificantly (less than 1% of the hammer price) do not constitute a basis for withdrawing from the purchase. The assessment of the amount of the repair or costs (less than or more than 1%) is at your own discretion.

In most cases, the seller will not have deliberately concealed the newly discovered defects. If you still intend to purchase despite these defects, you can carry out a fair and reasonable renegotiation directly on site as an alternative to withdrawing. You can deduct the estimated repair costs for the new defects from the online surcharge price.
