Fiat Ducato Frankia 570 Alkoven (1992) – Technically overhauled, ready to hit the road, and fully documented!
Hello, I’m selling our well-maintained and fully refurbished Fiat Ducato-based motorhome (Model 290) with a robust 2.5L diesel engine and a Frankia alcove body. The vehicle seats up to 5 people and has 2,017,000 km on the odometer. The TÜV inspection is valid through July 2027. If you’re looking for a vehicle that looks brand-new, this isn’t the one for you—the exterior shows age-related signs of wear. But if you’re looking for a motorhome that’s been thoroughly repaired, is in dry condition, and is ready to hit the road immediately—one where the expensive problem areas have already been expertly fixed—then you’ve come to the right place!
Over the past few years and months, the vehicle has been thoroughly repaired from the ground up. There is no backlog of maintenance.
Here are the key highlights: 1. Body & Comfort (Completely dry!): Alcove renovation: The alcove was completely gutted, old wood was removed, and it was professionally rebuilt using modern Styrodur and perfectly sealed both inside and out (photo documentation available!).
Kitchen & Bathroom: Fully functional hot and cold water via 12V and mains power. The hot water boiler was specially brazed at the connection using silver solder (known weak point fixed).
Plumbing: Cassette toilet freshly sealed (clean and hygienic emptying).
Appliances: Refrigerator is like new (1 year old); gas stove and Truma gas heater work flawlessly. Water tank, wastewater tank, and battery gauges are fully functional.
Extras: Very large aluminum roof box, bike rack for 3 bicycles.
Transmission overhaul: Second gear (synchronizer ring) and the entire fifth gear assembly—including the synchronizer ring and gears—have been completely replaced; the transmission has been resealed and refilled. Shifts like a dream! Engine & Cooling System: Completely resealed 1 year ago (including timing belt, water pump, and V-belt). Engine oil and filter changed 1,500 km ago. In addition, the entire cooling system was recently thoroughly flushed, cleaned of rust, and refilled. Exhaust: The exhaust manifold was replaced due to a hairline crack, and a flexible pipe was welded in (prevents future leaks at this common weak point on this model). 3.
Chassis, Brakes & Electrical System: Chassis: Axle boots and control arms recently replaced. Underbody completely cleaned and sealed with new underbody protection.
Brakes & Tires: Brakes completely replaced approximately 5,000 km ago. Tires are like new (only 500 km driven).
Electrical System: Internal energy management system repaired (both batteries charge perfectly from the mains and while driving). Starter battery (2 years old), auxiliary battery (1 year old). Turn signal relay converted to a modern system. Headlight height adjustment (hydraulic) and reverse lights completely replaced. Documentation & History:
The vehicle comes with a complete, thick binder containing all spare parts invoices, as well as the original Frankia onboard folder with all original descriptions and manuals from 1992. Every repair is documented in writing!
Note: The vehicle does not have power steering and currently does not have an “H” license plate, but would be eligible for one immediately due to its condition.
An awning and sunshade are also included; if desired, the entire set of equipment—table, stools, dishes, glasses, pots, etc.—can be purchased along with the camper.
The camper can be viewed by appointment. Since this is a private sale, the sale is made without any warranty or right of return.
